How Can You Join?
If you are a parent or relative of a Band student, you are a Booster!
Please join us to share your concerns and to learn more about Band by attending our monthly Booster meetings held in
the PHS band room the first Monday of the month at 7PM. We welcome your participation!
Greetings and welcome from current President - Karen Price
I would like to welcome all the Patuxent High School Band Boosters to the 2009-2010 Season. It is
my great pleasure to be this year's Band Booster President, and I would like to thank all the Booster Officers and Chairs,
both old and new, for taking on these essential responsibilities. The Booster Organization provides the Band Program
with both financial and volunteer support. Our financial support relies heavily on the numerous fundraising activities
that occur throughout the school year. The Annual Poinsettia and Mulch Sales provide the major portion of our yearly
funding, and full student and booster participation is crucial for these efforts to be successful. Other fundraising
activities, that include Concert Bake Sales, Band Merchandise, Photo Pins and Pancakes with Santa, require booster participation,
as well. The Boosters volunteer numerous hours as Pit Crew Members, Chaperones (Band Camp/Practices, Football
Games, Competitions), Sewing Crew (Uniforms and Flags), Webmaster, Merchandising, Publicity, etc, and can always use more
help. Anyone interested in lending a hand is very welcome and may contact me or Traci Lowery (see Contact List) to get
started. The pleasure you receive, by not only volunteering for a good cause, but by getting to know these
great
band students, cannot be measured. Please do not hesitate to
contact me with any questions or concerns, and I look
forward to meeting and getting to know everyone this year.

Parents and relatives of ALL Band students are invited to join us at our monthly Booster meetings. You will hear
committee reports and a Director's report from Ms. Humfeld as well as general discussion of all things Band!
