The dress rehearsals and performances of all ensembles are requirements of the class.  Excused absences must be cleared at least 10 school days before any performance (death and illness are of course dealt with accordingly).  Failure to do so will result in the absence being counted as an unexcused absence.  An unexcused absence for either a rehearsal or a concert will be reflected on the quarter grade.  In addition, attendance at rehearsal WILL affect the student’s participation in the performance.

There may be practices after school.  Attendance is required.  Failure to be at rehearsals will adversely affect the student participating in performances and will therefore cause the performance to be considered an unexcused absence.  In addition, lack of preparation may cause a student to be “pulled” from a concert.  Again, this causes the missed concert to be considered unexcused.
