Patuxent High School Band Boosters
Regular Monthly Meeting Minutes
October 3, 2011
The meeting was called to order by Traci Lowery at 7:00 PM on Monday October 3, 2011, at the PHS band room. Traci Lowery,
President, Rich Henrichsen, Vice President, Anne Hobbs, Treasurer, and Sue Allison, Secretary, were present.
Members Present: Stanley Pressley, Mary Baugher, Chantelle Kern, Sharon Evans, Sandy Brady, Lisa Hanson, Lorrain
Humphreys, JoAnn Henrichsen, Kym Mitchell, Karen Leach, Chris Kern, and Randy Berti.
A Roy Rogers fundraiser is scheduled for Tuesday, October 18th, with
pumpkin carving and costumes.
The County Showcase event is cancelled.
Treasurer’s Report: Anne Hobbs reported a deficit balance of $2,835.
Bake Sales: JoAnn reported that a bake sale is scheduled
for concert night on October 25th. We will investigate the possibility of holding
“Snack and Grab” bake sales at dismissal times.
Pictures: Chantelle Kern will load band photos on website for purchase via form on site.
Lorrain volunteered to do buttons and Traci to do prints.
Fundraising: Poinsettia sales are scheduled for November 7 through December 2.
Pancakes with Santa are scheduled for December 3.
Merchandise Sales: Mary reported sales of $96 at Open House night. Mary
will need help to do sales at remaining home football games – Traci to send out email for volunteers.
Pit: Randy noted that the Pit Crew can use volunteers, including help with loading and
unloading the trailer. They are also in need of bungee cords and a square flag holder. We need to
find out if we can plug into the light pole by the trailer. We will be developing a set of written procedures
for Pit. We discussed the possibility of theme costumes for Pit.
Traci Lowery adjourned the meeting at 8:05. The next regular monthly meeting is scheduled
for Monday, November 7th at 7 pm.

November 8, 2011
The meeting was called to order by Brooke Humfeld at 7:00 PM on Monday November 8, 2011, at the PHS band room. Traci
Lowery, President, Rich Henrichsen, Vice President, Anne Hobbs, Treasurer, and Sue Allison, Secretary, were present.
Members Present: Stanley Pressley, Mary Baugher, Sandy Brady, Lisa Hanson, JoAnn Henrichsen, Kym Mitchell, Barb Matthews, Bill Brickey,
Barb Pudlow, and Dave Matthews.
Merchandise Sales: We sold $110 in merchandise at each of the last two football games. We have 50 black sweatshirts,
50 green sweatshirts, and 50 long sleeve t-shirts on order. These items can be pre-ordered.
We discussed the possible purchase of new warm-ups and duffel bags.
We discussed ACC’s and Ms. Humfeld relayed positive comments from Ms. Highsmith and thanked
volunteers.
Marching Band Banquet is scheduled for November 16th at 6:30.
We need donations of desserts, appetizers, drinks, plates and silverware.
All-County Band forms are due by November 10th. Tri-County forms are due
by December 1st. Solo and Ensemble is coming up and Ms. Humfeld will need names
of interested students soon.
Ms. Humfeld asked for volunteers to help take scaffolding down.
A marching band rehearsal is scheduled for November 10th from 5:00-6:30.
Holiday Concert is scheduled for December 8th at 7:00. Dress
rehearsal is scheduled for December 1st. Jazz Band to perform in lobby prior to
concert. Call times tentatively scheduled for Jazz Band at 6:00 and everyone else at 6:30.
Ms. Humfeld to check into the possibility of doing bake sales at upcoming elementary school concerts.
Pep Band rehearsals started this week – they will be held on Mondays and Tuesdays from 2:30-4:00.
The spring musical will be held in April. Pit musicians will receive music before winter
break and rehearsals will start in January.
Poinsettia
sale is underway and orders are due by December 5th. Plants will come in
on December 7th. Order forms contain one error - glitter option is $1.75 vs. $1.25.
Pancakes with Santa: Brooke to check with Judy from lunch staff about possibly buying milk and food through
the school cafeteria. We decided to raise the ticket price from $5 to $6. We may offer a $1 discount
for attendees who present our flier at the door. Barb Matthews to bring printer
for Santa pictures. Chantelle
to take pictures with Santa. Traci to design flier. Barb to buy 4 reams of paper. Ms.
Humfeld to check into advertising event on school marquee. Students will be asked to work at the event and stay
through clean-up. Fliers to go out to elementary students on November 22nd and
29th. We need griddles and extension cords. Barb to buy sausage.
Stanley to bring coffee. Parents will be asked to donate fruit (bananas, grapes and oranges).
Sandy to look for small items to sell. Traci in charge of decorating and Brooke to check into reserving
the cafeteria for the evening before the event at 6:00. Event will run from 9:00-12:00 and volunteers will be
needed from 7:30-1:00.
Brooke Humfeld adjourned the meeting at 8:20. The next regular monthly meeting is scheduled
for Monday, December 5th at 7 pm.

December 5, 2011
The meeting was called to order by Traci Lowery at 7:00 PM on Monday, December 5, 2011, at
the PHS band room. Traci Lowery, President, Anne Hobbs, Treasurer, and Sue Allison, Secretary, were present.
Members Present: Mary Baugher, Sandy Brady, JoAnn Henrichsen, Kym Mitchell, Barb Matthews, Lorraine Humphreys, Chris Kern and Chantelle
Kern were also present.
Pancakes with Santa: We raised approximately $1,149 at the event.
We will need to reimburse Barbara $47.96 for expenses.
We discussed Roy Rogers night scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 13.
We discussed bake sale for upcoming concert.
Poinsettia Sales: We sold approximately $1,861 in poinsettias with for a net profit of
$862.70.
We discussed band trailer – painter to touch up some rough spots.
Sandy offered to donate new Gatorade bottles to marching band.
Traci adjourned the meeting at 8:00 PM. The next regular monthly meeting is scheduled for Monday,
January 9th at 7:00 PM.
